Isn't Honesty the Best Policy When It Comes To Marriage?

Here I am, divorced, not living with my ex, and I still write about my very hard life that I had with him. Why do I look back? Not only for myself to see what I have been through, but for others who are going through the same thing. It's not easy to walk in these shoes. It's one of the hardest things that I have ever had to deal with, and especially with a child. I learned as I grew up that people get married, it's the right thing to do, and now as I look back, it's great and wonderful and all, but I am not married to him anymore. I wanted that American dream of being married, having a house and family and being with my love, my best friend for FOREVER. It just DIDN'T work out that way. What do I want out of life now? My dream is gone, shattered, and not only that, it wasn't ME who chose to cheat. Sure, I know that when you are married, that everything has 2 sides, or as some people say, 3 sides: his version, her version and the truth. Okay, I can take my side of the blame, but honestly, I wished that he would have told me that he was in love with someone else and ended things with me, instead of sneaking around behind my back all those years. Isn't honesty the best policy here? Or was I just with a guy who wanted his cake and eat it too?

Name Brand Shopping?

When you go to buy groceries, I know that some things are better by the brand name, but have you tried using some of the store brands? In some cases, these items can be cheaper than the brand even with a coupon. Before I even step foot into the grocery store I always make out a list of the things that I really need, and yes, I do buy other things as well, but it makes it easier with a list. Some even plan out a menu for the week which makes it doubly easy for shopping, but I don't always have time to do that. I find that if I can get something on sale and find a coupon that coordinates with that sale item, I can save even more. Do your children like a particular item? You can go online and put in a search for that item to see if there's a coupon out for it, and boy that really helps. Money is tight sometimes so you gotta save where ever you can these days!

Who Gets The Bills?

Apparently, I got stuck with alot of the bills, but he did put some work into our house, and he too, put some home improvements on his credit as well. I had one card, he had another. When we split up, I kept my card, he kept his. Not long after I moved out, I got a call from an attorney. He had gone in to complain about the fact that he was stuck with a credit card with home improvements that he was having to pay for alone....well, not only was I paying on my own card with home improvements on it, but he was living in the house. I was the one who picked out the house. I never wanted to leave, but after all was said and done, he would not move out. I ended up with nothing, only personal belongings. Once again, I got the shaft. When he cheated on me, and then again when I lost my half of the house, and then he had the nerve to want me to pay on his credit card too? I quickly explained to the attorney that not only was he in the house, but he was self employed and he puts most of his business expenses on his card, not only our home improvents. I really don't know what he was thinking, except to maybe try and get my attention. Why did he cause all this commotion? Who got the bills? I got most of them....that's right, I really feel like I got the bad end of the deal.
